With over 200 holidays to choose from, KE Adventure Travel has one of the very best collections of trekking and walking holidays worldwide. Graded on a scale from 1 to 12, we have holidays to suit everyone. Our tougher treks are likely to involve multi-day hikes through wilderness regions, with porter support and tented accommodation. Whilst at the other end of the scale, our softer walking holidays are more likely to be hotel or lodge-based with a day-walk format and an emphasis on uncovering the area's history, culture and cuisine. From our earliest days we've developed a range of treks that include celebrated classics such as Peru's Inca Trail trek, the ascent of Tanzania's Kilimanjaro and the ever popular Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal. Alongside these, we have always made it a priority to seek out distinctive and unique itineraries in less familiar areas such as Armenia, Cameroon, Madagascar and Burma. Whichever of our trekking or walking holidays you choose to undertake, you can be sure you'll enjoy breaking out of your day-to-day routine and exploring exotic landscapes on foot, with the chance to experience different cultures.

Viva Gran Canaria

8 days       from  £1095 excl. flights*

The highest mountain and the delights of the coast, combined with vibrant, historic Las Palmas, make this is a walking week crammed full of contrasts, with that special holiday feeling. With its eternal spring/summer climate, Gran Canaria provides a revitalising escape from a gloomy dark winter. Described as a continent in miniature the island has a dramatic variation in terrain, with the mountainous interior creating an exhilarating paradise for walking adventures. Staying in 3 different locations around the island we'll experience the undiscovered Gran Canaria, a million miles away from the beachfront tourism that most people see. Our hotel bases will give us access to a mouth-watering variety of day walks. We'll stay on the coast for the first 3 days at the busy little yacht harbour of Puerto de Mogan, nicknamed the Venice of the Canaries and probably the most picturesque resort on the island. Moving up into the mountains, the quaint village of Tejeda provides the perfect location for the second half of this holiday, as we embark on some superb walking in the central massif, including the trek to the island's highest point, Pico de las Nieves (1951m). After a delightful 6 days of mountains and sea, we end our walking week with another side of this island, the colourful and vibrant capital, Las Palmas, where we can explore the ancient streets of Vegueta, a fascinating historic area of the city. This week-long walking escape covers all the hiking highlights of Gran Canaria.

La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries

8 days       from  £895 excl. flights*

La Gomera, the greenest of the Canary Islands, lies just 30 kilometres off the coast of Tenerife, at the edge of an enormous shelf in the Atlantic Ocean. The most surprising of La Gomera's botanical treasures are found in the Garajonay National Park, its ‘green crown'. The centuries-old luxuriant Laurel forests that clothe the highest point of the island are a biodiversity hotspot for flora and fauna. Fanning out from the centre of La Gomera are volcanic ridges which end in steep cliffs along the rocky coastline. Deep gorges, or barrancos lie between these ridges, limiting road access to many parts of the island and tourism here especially for walkers, is still in its early stages. These sculptured natural landscapes are further enhanced in the valleys by centuries of hard-won agriculture, where the local people have constructed terraces for the plantation of banana, papaya and mango trees, with dry-stone walls running impossibly up the hillsides. La Gomera is also the Canary Island home of ‘El Sibo', one of the world's few remaining whistling languages, originally developed for communication between neighbours separated by the deep barrancos. A walker's paradise, La Gomera offers perfect temperatures for walking year round and is criss-crossed with trails, many of which follow the coastline and offer spectacular views inland toward towering volcanic peaks. On this holiday we will enjoy six of the best walks on the island, each of around 5 - 6 hours duration and covering the full gamut of the wide variety of landscapes and walking on offer in La Gomera.
