Cover more miles and explore more of the world's extraordinary landscapes and cultures on one of our Road Cycling or Mountain Biking holidays. Whether you fancy a Himalayan mountain bike challenge or an Alpine road riding blast in preparation for your next sportive, you will find what you are looking for amongst our global selection of biking adventures. With a track record that stretches back almost 30 years, KE Adventure Travel has more accumulated experience of adventure cycling holidays than any other tour operator. Our range of popular biking adventures now includes holidays as different as Jordan's Dead 2 Red ride, Lake Titicaca to Machu Picchu in Peru, the Rajasthan Road Cycling Tour in India and the classic trans-Alp Geneva to Nice road biking adventure. Our biking holidays are separated into 3 types (Fat Tyre, Semi-Slick and Road Cycling) on the basis of the terrain involved and the type of bike and tyres required. Additionally, each of our holidays is graded on a scale of 1 to 12, with 12 being the most challenging. Please refer to our grading system, which identifies each holiday's level of difficulty and enables you to compare the difficulty of two or more cycling holidays of the same type.

Camino de Santiago by Bike

11 days       from  £1595 excl. flights*

This new biking holiday follows the Camino de Santiago, one of the world's oldest and most renowned pilgrimage routes. Following the Camino Frances 800km all the way to Santiago de Compostela, we'll start our journey in France and cross over the Pyrenees into the Basque country of Spain. Cycling besides waterways and by way of ancient woodland, lush vineyards and desolate ‘paramo', the scenery is as diverse as it is stunning. We are accompanied by a professional, English-speaking cycling guide, and with the road always close by, we have a support vehicle throughout the holiday. Our baggage is carried in a support vehicle and we have regular stops to regroup and to refuel. This is sustained bike journey, with a variety of riding, including rolling high plateau and some long days with significant amounts of ascent. En route, we stay in a mix of comfortable hotels, hostals and gites, chosen for their character and good food. Finally arriving at the UNESCO town of Santiago, with its cobbled streets and welcoming cafes, those who have been diligent and collected ‘Pilgrim Passport Stamps' along the way, can pick up their ‘Compostela' certificates. Here, too, we have the chance to visit the impressive Romanesque Cathedral, to enjoy a celebratory evening meal and to reflect on a tremendous adventure.

Whether you’re a keen cyclist or enjoy the occasional bike ride at the weekend, or even if you’ve been inspired by the London Olympics and just want to give it a go, we have plenty of cycling adventures to choose from. We cycle mainly on backroads and rural tracks, using mountain bikes or ‘hybrid’ bikes that are ideal for the terrain. These are supplied by us and included in the price: you don’t need to bring your own bike or pay extra to hire one locally. We research our cycling tours with real care, combining the best routes with all the destination has to offer. You’ll enjoy not just the challenges along the way and the sense of achievement at the end of each day, but also the joy of exploring on two wheels: watching the landscapes unfold ahead of you, meeting the local people and experiencing everyday life well beyond the reach of conventional tourism.
