Tour Map of Camino De Santiago

Following in the footsteps of countless pilgrims since the 9th Century, we follow the legendary route to Santiago de Compostela - the resting place of Saint James. We walk along the most scenic sections between Burgos and Santiago: across the high plains of the Castilian Meseta and into the Galician mountains. We discover Gothic cathedrals, pass through medieval villages and climb to the Iron Cross (1482m) along the way.

With over 200 holidays to choose from, KE Adventure Travel has one of the very best collections of trekking and walking holidays worldwide. Graded on a scale from 1 to 12, we have holidays to suit everyone. Our tougher treks are likely to involve multi-day hikes through wilderness regions, with porter support and tented accommodation. Whilst at the other end of the scale, our softer walking holidays are more likely to be hotel or lodge-based with a day-walk format and an emphasis on uncovering the area's history, culture and cuisine. From our earliest days we've developed a range of treks that include celebrated classics such as Peru's Inca Trail trek, the ascent of Tanzania's Kilimanjaro and the ever popular Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal. Alongside these, we have always made it a priority to seek out distinctive and unique itineraries in less familiar areas such as Armenia, Cameroon, Madagascar and Burma. Whichever of our trekking or walking holidays you choose to undertake, you can be sure you'll enjoy breaking out of your day-to-day routine and exploring exotic landscapes on foot, with the chance to experience different cultures.

Walk the Camino de Santiago - The Way of St James

8 days       from  £975 excl. flights*

Also known as the ‘Way of Saint James', the walking the Camino de Santiago is one of the world's oldest pilgrimages. Our version of this famous route takes us from Sarria all the way to Santiago de Compostela, over the last 100 kilometre stretch that qualifies us for the ‘Compostela' - the pilgrimage certificate. From the pretty, tree-shaded streets of Sarria, we follow the iconic scallop-shell way-marks, beside waterways, through woodland and by way of scattered, picturesque villages. Finally arriving at the ancient town of Santiago, with its cobbled streets and welcoming cafes, we have the chance to visit the impressive Baroque Cathedral, now a shrine to Saint Paul. During our walk along the Camino de Santiago, we stay in small family run hotels and our baggage is transferred for us. Involving some long days on easy terrain, this fully guided walking holiday is steeped in the religious history of this 1000 year-old pilgrimage route.
