Mount Roraima Trek Extension

8 days            from  £750 excl. flights*

Reputed to be one of the greatest week long treks in Latin America, the epic journey to the summit of Mount Roraima should be high on the wish list of any visitor to Venezuela. The tallest tepuy (tabletop mountain) in the Gran Sabana, Roraima forms a natural frontier between Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana. Towering some 2,800 metres above the surrounding jungles, the climb to the plateau takes you on a journey back into the imagination of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.Beginning in Puerto Ordaz, you'll travel by road to Santa Elena, from where you will begin the trek up to the first camp at Parai Tepuy. Soon the flat savanna gives way to sheer vertical walls of rock and encroaching jungle, as you make you way up the challenging slopes of Mount Roraima. Home to an astonishing array of rare fauna and flora, the plateau presents another world of surreal formations and breathtaking landscapes, where you can gaze down the vertical walls to the land below.Few places on earth conjure up the feeling of a truly alien landscape, but Mount Roraima, with its lakes, strange shaped rocks and extraordinary panoramic views, perfectly encapsulates the 'Lost World' of Victorian literature.

Highlights - Trek to the summit of Mount Roraima
- Explore the 'Lost World' landscapes of the tepuy plateaus
- Gaze down into the valleys below, from the sheer walls of Mount Roraima
