How to choose your trip to Morocco
Morocco is one of the most popular adventure travel destinations, with it's wide variety of attractions and easy accessibility for European travellers. Most tours either encompass all of the country or focus on the south in and around Marrakech, with the historical cities and ruins of the north an alternative destination. There are many options for cycling, family and other specialist tours. Morocco is also a great trekking destination, with the option of climbing Mount Toukbal or more extensive exploration of the Atlas Mountains.

Trekking Mount Toubkal in Winter 8 days
from £525 excl. flights* Morocco's Atlas Mountains including Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest mountain, provide a fantastic range of trekking options for the winter hiker from November through to April. Just 2 hours drive from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, the high valleys of the Berber people are at their quietest and most beautiful at this season. Our well tried-and-tested itinerary includes a day's acclimatisation hike above the village of Aroumd, before we proceed to the Toubkal Refuge (3207m) and Toubkal's effective basecamp at the head of the valley. From here, we aim to climb Ouanoukrim (4088m), Morocco's second highest summit, and Toubkal (4167m), the highest mountain in North Africa. Spectacular views from each of these peaks extend across the rocky Atlas ranges and southwards to Jebel Sahro and the Sahara. Although this trip involves negotiating easy-angled snow slopes and ice-axe and crampons will be used, previous experience of winter mountaineering is not required, but is recommended. Fully guided, this is a short and very special winter walking holiday.Running a select few of the departures in conjunction with our friends at Allibert Trekking in France, gives the holiday an international flavour and a cosmopolitan mix! |
