Depending on the location you can enjoy thrilling activities as diverse as canoeing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, canyoning, rock climbing, hydrospeed diving, snorkelling, surfing, windsurfing, mountain biking, horse riding, hiking and much more. We provide all the equipment and training for each activity, along with fully qualified guides and an experienced Explore leader to oversee the tour as a whole. You don’t need previous experience to try any of the activities, just a sense of adventure and a liking for adrenaline! Many of our multi-activity holidays are centre-based, where the group stays at the same accommodation throughout the trip and uses it as a base from which go out and experience all the activities the region has to offer. Others are tours which travel through a destination, enjoying the best of the activities along the way.

Travel with us on a twin-centre family holiday to beautiful Sicily, off the southern tip of Italy, an island that offers adventure with a rich historical backdrop. This active trip blends a great variety of activities in places of natural beauty with the cultural highlights of Palermo and Taormina. Activities include cycling, swimming, body rafting, climbing, archery, powerfan (which involves free-falling from a high platform attached to a safety harness), walking and a pasta/pizza cookery lesson. No experience is required, all equipment and expert instruction is provided, activities are graded easy and just require an enthusiasm for adventure! Each evening we return to the comfort of our farm stay/hotel where we can enjoy home-cooked typical Sicilian cuisine. All dinners are included on this tour.

Family Sicily - Volcanic Islands Explorer

Often referred to as the 'Seven Sisters', the volcanic Aeolian Islands are scattered across the blue Tyrrhenian Sea, north of Sicily. The biggest island of Lipari is our base for this family explorer holiday. We have a week of island hopping and fun, using hydrofoils and ferries to visit several of the neighbouring islands. We enjoy a couple of easy coastal walks on Lipari and make the hike up to the crater rim on Vulcano, an island famous throughout Sicily for its black sand beaches. Here, we can also visit the sea-level hot springs and mud pools and have plenty of time for a swim before returning to Lipari. We then take the hydrofoil to Stromboli, one of the most beautiful islands in the Med, with its white houses splashed with scarlet bougainvillea. On Stromboli, we take an easy walk to the 'stream of fire' to witness the smoke and lava flows of this ever-active volcano which has 'erupted' every 15 minutes since records began. Our volcanic explorer ends in mainland Sicily, with a stay at the foot of smouldering Mount Etna and as a fitting fanale to our Sicilian family holiday, we climb to a magnificent viewpoint on the slopes of this actiive volcano for a wonderful panorama of the northern coast of Sicily. With lots to see and do and some free time for the kids to enjoy the beach this holiday is in a word...... fantastico!
