 South China Tribal Encounters 14 days

Blessed with a haunting landscape of monolithic karst hills and meandering rivers, they present some of the most quintessentially Chinese backdrops anywhere in the country.This journey though begins amongst the bright lights of Shanghai, before swiftly moving on to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province. Here you will visit Huangguoshu (China's largest waterfall) and the ancient town of Tianlong, before journeying through the beautiful countryside to Kaili and on to Leishan County, the heart of China's Miao community.Continuing to Zhaoxing you'll visit the villages and markets of the Dong people, before continuing up into the mountains to experience the incredible rice terraces of the famous 'Dragon's Backbone'. The journey on to Yangshou then takes you through a breathtaking landscape of karst hills, meandering waterways and rice paddies, allowing you a couple of days to explore the area by bike or raft before ending this incredible encounter on the bustling streets of Hong Kong. | |
