UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Seychelles

Aldabra Atoll
Located to the south-east of the Seychelles island group, Aldabra Atoll comprises four large coral islands enclosing a shallow lagoon and surrounded by a coral reef. Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve
The Vallée de Mai is a valley in the heart of Praslin National Park on the northern island of Praslin. It is a primeval palm forest in a near natural state, famous for the coco de mer palms that have the largest nuts in the world, as well as the five other species of palm endemic to the Seychelles. Many legends have developed around the coc de mer, perhaps most bizarrely that in the 19th century, the British General Gordon claimed proof that the Vallée de Mai was the Garden of Eden and the coco de mer was the Tree of Knowledge!
