Natural attractions in Gabon

Lopé-Okanda

Lopé-Okanda comprises tropical rainforest and savannah terrain and is a region with huge diversity of plant and animal species. The area also contains the remains of habitation and over 1800 petroglyphs that reflect a migration route of Bantu and other peoples from West Africa to central, east and southern Africa.

Loango National Park

Loango National Park was formed in 2002 with the merger of the Iguela and Petit Loango Reserves. The park is located on the coastline in the south of Gabon and comprises beaches, savannah, mangroves and forest. At Tassi near the coast, you can view leatherback turtles, elephants, buffalo and hippos. In Akaka Forest to the south, red river pigs, monkeys and lowland gorillas are among the resident animals.

Point St. Catherine

Point St. Catherine, on Gabon's southern Atlantic coast, is the perfect chill-out spot, with stunning beaches that allow sunbathing, swimming or fishing.

Ivindo National Park

Among the animals you can come into contact with in Ivindo National Park are forest elephants and lowland gorillas.
