Wildlife attractions in Gabon

Loango National Park

Loango National Park was formed in 2002 with the merger of the Iguela and Petit Loango Reserves. The park is located on the coastline in the south of Gabon and comprises beaches, savannah, mangroves and forest. At Tassi near the coast, you can view leatherback turtles, elephants, buffalo and hippos. In Akaka Forest to the south, red river pigs, monkeys and lowland gorillas are among the resident animals.

Evengue Island

Evengue Island has a gorilla sanctuary and reintroduction centre. A guided trek allows to come in contact with a family of gorillas.

Ivindo National Park

Among the animals you can come into contact with in Ivindo National Park are forest elephants and lowland gorillas.
