With a huge range of National Parks to visit and some fantastic game viewing to enjoy, this exciting adventure takes you through two of the country's best known parks - the South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi - before finishing off in Livingstone, Zambia's gateway to the thundering Victoria Falls.South Luangwa is the ideal starting point and during your stay you will be able to enjoy an abundance of big game viewing including the big cats for which Zambia is renowned. The region is also the traditional home of the walking safari, so make sure that you enjoy at least one of these during your visit. Moving on to the Lower Zambezi then offers a chance to slow your safari down a little, perhaps enjoying a day canoeing the channels of the Zambezi or cruising up and down in a flat bottomed motor boat. Then it is on to Livingstone, Zambia's adrenaline capital, where you can visit the mighty Victoria Falls, soar above the gorge by helicopter and even bungee jump from the Victoria Falls Bridge. A perfect end to a perfect adventure.

Wild Zambian Safari

Zambia - Kafue Adventure

Western Zambia's Kafue National Park encompasses some 22,400 square kilometres, making it one of the largest game reserves in Africa. Its sheer size and diversity makes it an ideal location for an extended safari and this unforgettable adventure offers a chance to stay in three different camps, allowing you to experience a variety of accommodation, landscapes and animals.Popular with safari aficionados, predator sightings here are excellent and the park can boast large populations of lions and rare wild dogs. It is also considered one of the best spots on the continent for leopard sightings, whilst the vast and open Busanga Plains provides ideal country for cheetahs to thrive in. The mists that rise up from the plains provide a magical backdrop to sunrise and sunset at Busanga, with the abundant herds of rare antelope, such as sitatunga, lechwe and yellow-backed duiker making for some wonderful photographs. Zambia: The Valley of the Leopard

Famous for its walking safaris, Zambia's South Luangwa Valley has, with good reason, been declared one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Fed by the waters of the Luangwa River, the concentration of wildlife along its banks and amongst its oxbow lagoons is amongst the most prolific anywhere on the continent. Staying in comfortable, rustic camps, this exhilarating eight day adventure takes you into the heart of this special wilderness, with a series of safaris, both by 4x4 and on foot, that provide a comprehensive introduction to this spectacular setting. Travelling by light aircraft from Lusaka, you'll travel through the small township of Mfuwe to your first camp on the banks of the Luangwa River. Over the following days you'll then explore the park in open topped jeeps, punctuating your game drive with visits to a local village or a dip in the pool, before travelling up to the remote northern wilds of the park. Here you will undertake a three day walking safari, one of the most exciting ways to appreciate the true beauty of this unique setting, before flying back to the Zambian capital.

Zambia - Rivers and Rainbows

The rolling landscapes of the South Luangwa National Park takes on a whole new feel during the rainy summer months between January and April. At this time of year the Luangwa River, usually dry during the long hot African summer, fills from bank to bank, providing relief to the animals and presenting an ideal location for an exhilarating boat safari.Travelling out of season and combining the rustic feel of Kakuli with the colonial splendour of Chinzombo, you'll enjoy two superb camps at a fraction of the cost. Known as the 'Emerald Season', the park at this time of year springs to life, with the short sharp showers clearing the air and turning the bush to a lush green. With the temperatures more bearable, the plains come alive with game, as the arrival of newborn animals brings with it the inevitable threat of predators.If you are prepared for a little rain and some steamy days, this is a rewarding time to take a Zambian safari. Please note, the length of stay in each camp will be advised two weeks prior to travel.

Liuwa Plains - Zambia's Secret Hideaway

In this ever shrinking world, a chance to find a new and exciting safari destination is rare indeed these days. Liuwa Plains provide a chance to escape the well-trodden safari route and recapture the majesty and drama of wild Africa. With just one established camp on the plains, run by the excellent Norman Carr Safaris, Liuwe is all about the wildlife experience.Currently located at Matamanene, but due to relocate to Mambeti in 2017, the camp provides an exclusive haven amongst the vast and open landscapes of the Liuwe Plains. This expansive wilderness is home to large populations of lion, hyena and wildebeest. Indeed, in November, with the onset of the rains, Liuwe witnesses the arrival of massive herds of blue wildebeest from neighbouring Angola.A chance to experience this unique event, away from the crowds usually found in the Serengeti or Masai Mara, makes a trip to Liuwa a highlight for safari purists. Add to that some notable numbers of birds, wild dog and rare antelope and you have all the makings for a truly private, game-rich safari experience.
