Close to the border with China, the mountainous terrain of northern Vietnam is home to a diversity of ethnic minority groups whose traditional lifestyles have changed little for centuries. From Viet Quang, 6 days of delightful trekking take us to some of the most remote villages in the area, where we enjoy homestays with the local tribes: Tay, Dzao, Nung and Hmong. Walking through unspoiled forest and carefully tended rice paddies, we picnic beside hidden waterfalls and spend time in colourful market towns such at Quang Nguyen and Bac Ha. Returning to Hanoi, we have time to explore this enchanting city and also to explore the amazing limestone landscape of Tam Coc, by bike and by boat, as we travel to the trip's finale at Halong Bay.
