The Ultimate Fann Mountains Trek 17 days
from £2195 excl. flights* The southern edge of the Central Asian republics is defined by the rocky barrier of the Pamirs which includes the little-visited Fann Mountains. This spectacular range has numerous snow-capped 5000 metre peaks and the potential for brilliant trekking, through rocky valleys and across high passes. Accessed through the Tajikistan capital, Dushanbe, our sensational 12-day trek makes a comprehensive tour of this rugged and picturesque landscape, where Tajik shepherds graze their flocks on remote upland pastures. Climbing to high viewpoints, including the dramatic Mazalat Pass (4133m) and enjoying a succession of superb lakeside camping places, this is a truly memorable trek. After the trek, we travel into neighbouring Uzbekistan, where we visit the stunning Silk Road cities of Samarkand and Tashkent. More than 2500 years old and known as the 'Gem of the East', Samarkand is one of the wonders of the world, with mosaic-clad monuments that are guaranteed to take your breath away. Trekking Tajikistan: Pamir Mountain Lakes 16 days
from £1800 excl. flights* Of all the Greater Ranges on the Asian continent, the Pamir Mountains are probably the least known and the least visited of them all. They boast the world’s largest glacier outside the Polar regions, the 77km long Fedchenko Glacier, and harbour three mountains taller than 7000m. We will be traversing through the heart of the mountain range. Along the way we will stay in the homes of the Pamiri natives, camp near centuries old caravanserais and explore the shores of shimmering blue Alpine lakes. To complete the traverse the team will scale a mountain pass that’s taller than Mont Blanc. Be prepared to be spoiled for life! |

Mountains and Marvels of Central Asia 15 days
from £1695 excl. flights* This trip is the perfect Central Asian odyssey! A combination of trekking in Tajikistan's Fann Mountains and exploring Uzbekistan's Silk Road Cities in just 2 weeks. Flying into the Tajik capital of Dushanbe, we head to the north side of Tajikistan's Fann Mountains to begin our 5 day trek in the most picturesque section of the range culminating in a visit to the crystal coloured Alaudin Lakes. With lakeside campsites, the trekking and camping is idyllic. We should also encounter the local Tajik shepherds, who spend the summer months grazing their flocks in the high and remote pastures of the Fann Mountains. After saying goodbye to our trek crew we take the long but interesting drive across the border into neighbouring Uzbekistan. Our Silk Road extravaganza begins with a visit to the ancient city of Khiva, home to warring Khans of time past. Following the River Oxus we drive on to the holy citadel of Bukhara with its Ark fortress and beautiful surrounding mosques and madrassahs. Finally we arrive in Samakand, one of the pearls of the East, and home to Tamerlane.
