China, Pakistan & India - This totally unique itinerary takes us on a wonderful journey along the southern branch of the Old Silk Road. Starting in Kashgar where we will witness the famous Yakshmbe Bazaar - otherwise known as the Sunday Market - we will continue through the stunning mountains of northern Pakistan to the tranquil foothills of the Indian Himalayas. On a journey that traders, warriors, poets and pilgrims have been taking for millennia we will drive the famous Karakoram Highway - the eighth wonder of the world - through Hunza and the beautiful Fairy Meadows and on to Lahore. From here we will cross the border to the Sikh’s holy city of Amritsar, visit the Golden Temple and then head to mythical lands of Kashmir to relax in the mellow forest-clad mountains and on the regions tranquil lakes. All in all, this is an amazing adventure: a journey through a part of the world that will stay with you long after you have finished your travels...

Pakistan is a country close to our hearts… and for good reason. Home to some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world, thriving cities, colourful markets and warm hospitality, a trip to this part of the world is bound to excite even the worldliest travellers. Having run trips here for more than a decade, we understand the political complexities of travelling to this fascinating country and our paramount consideration has always been the safety of our clients. Despite the negative images painted by the press, we believe that most areas in Pakistan – particularly around the mountains of the north - pose little or no danger within the current climate. Our itineraries therefore focus on these intriguing locations, giving intrepid travellers the chance to experience these unspoilt lands and cultures that have remained unchanged for centuries. And on this new tour you’ll get to see it all as you travel on an in-depth journey from the plains through the mountains of the north; from the Babusa Pass and Kaghan Valley to the high-altitude Dosai Plateau; from the surreal landscapes of Skardu to the towering Nangha Parbat at Fairy Meadows and majestic Rakaposhi in Hunza; and from the forts of Baltit, Mastuj and Chitral to the otherworldly valleys of the Kalash – this is a trip that gives you everything. With great walks, interesting historical sites and fascinating human culture this is a trip that has it all.

Trips of 8 to 34 days in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Peru & Bolivia. These adventure trips use local transport and sometimes private minibuses. You will stay in locally run and owned hostels and hotels allowing interaction with local communities, as well as the occasional night camping (for example on the Inca Trail). Group size is limited to 18 people per Tour Leader in order to maximise your enjoyment at local sites.

Visit this amazing and little travelled area of Northern Pakistan. We travel in open top Jeeps with a local guide and a maximum of 3travellers per vehicle, staying in basic hotels with twin bed en-suite rooms. Journey from Islamabad up the Karakorum highway past the junction of the Himalaya, Karakorum and Hindu Kush mountain ranges with 7000mtr peaks above and beside you. Get off the beaten track with jaw dropping vistas down nail biting roads! Trek to Nanga Parbat base camp and visit the Kalash Valley where a warm welcome awaits. Hike to Passu Glacier and walk over the death defying suspension bridge before heading over the Shandur Pass to Chitral and the remote Kalash Valley. One thing is for certain, Pakistan is sure to stay in your memory forever! All meals are included!!

Karakorum Valleys – Pakistan

A trip into the awe-inspiring Karakorum Mountains of Northern Pakistan. The Karakorum Mountains contain a kaleidoscope of people as well as some of the earth’s most incredible scenery. We’ll begin by taking a flight from Islamabad to Skardu in Baltistan. There we will visit the beautiful valleys of Shigar and Khaplu before crossing the high altitude Deosai Plains by jeep. After being awed by the 4 kilometre high Rupal face of Nanga Parbat we will head north to the semimythical Hunza valley. There we will cross to Attabad lake, explore the rope bridges of Passu and learn about life in the high mountains of Pakistan. Finally we’ll take one of life’s great road trips, the Karakorum Highway, back to Islamabad.
