Secret Sardinia

As the second largest island in the Mediterranean and described as a 'walker's paradise off the beaten track' Sardinia is a vibrant landscape of wild mountains, jaw-dropping canyons, spectacular cliffs, hidden coves and a dramatic rocky coast surrounded by turquoise seas. All this is wonderfully combined with colourful history, hearty food, delicious wines and wonderful flora watched over proudly by the characterful and welcoming Sardinians! This charming walking holiday is based on the lesser known East coast of the island, famed for the beautiful National Park of Golfo di Orosei. After the bustling town of Olbia we head to the town of Dorgali and our family-run hotel, which is our base for the next five nights. In the beautifully wild and stark Supramonte Mountains we'll hike to the summit of Tiscali, with its hidden cave village and ancient sites of the Nuraghe people. Next we explore the Gulf of Orosei National Park, with walks to the hidden coves of Cala Gonone and Cala Luna. As the islands first national park, this is a region of dramatic cliffs, beautiful coastal views and genuine lovers of the outdoors! We leave the best till last with a walk through the jaw-dropping Gorropu Canyon with walls towering up to 400m before ascending the highest peak in the Supramonte range - Monte Corrasi (1463m).
