This alternative overland route in Southern Africa takes in some of the less-visited countries and regions in addition to popular destinations like Kruger National Park, Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta. From Johannesburg, the route travels east though Kruger to Mozambique, an emerging travel destination renowned for its Portuguese colonial influence and its spectacular beaches and tropical waters, ideal for diving and snorkelling. After a few days relaxing on the beach, you head north through Mozambique to Malawi, experiencing the 'Warm Heart of Africa' and the lake which defines the country. Heading into Zambia, there are world class safari opportunities in South Luangwa National Park before heading south to Victoria Falls, home to the spectacular waterfalls and many adrenaline activities. The journey comes full circle by returning to Johannesburg via Botswana, where there are excellent wildlife reserves and the incomparable beauty of the Okavango Delta.
