The days provide endless opportunities for game viewing and varied safari activities. Choose from day and night game drives, guided bush walks, boat trips along the river, fishing or swimming in hot springs. The evenings are then spent under the stars, enjoying the simple comforts of your bush camp. Flying on to Pemba you then begin a four night dhow safari, island hopping your way across the Indian Ocean as you explore the pristine island gems of the Quirimbas Archipelago. With blue skies above and clear waters below, you will have time to swim and snorkel amongst colourful reefs and enjoy some idyllic remote camps along the sandy shores, before swapping the rustic adventure for some well deserved pampering at the unique Ibo Island Lodge. Here you'll find a fascinating combination of history and style, in a truly authentic setting on an island forgotten by time.

Untamed Tanzania

From the game-rich lands of the Mkata floodplains, to the untouched and wild landscapes of Ruaha National Park, this is country that conjures up the very essence of 'Wild Africa'.Beginning in Dar es Salaam, your journey takes you by light aircraft on to the expansive setting of Mukimi National Park and a safari camp stunningly located overlooking the rich Mkata floodplains. With daily safaris and a chance to visit the breathtaking Udzungwa Mountain National Park, you'll have ample opportunity to search out a vast array of game before flying on to the Mufindi Highlands.Amongst the rolling hills and tea plantations of Mufindi, you'll then have time to relax and enjoy village visits, horse riding and fly fishing, before your adventure takes you on to Ruaha, one of favourite parks in Tanzania.. Here, beside the waters of the Ruaha River, you'll seek out wild dog, unimaginable numbers of birds and some of the largest concentrations of elephants in East Africa.

Amongst the rich game-lands of the Selous and the Ruaha, you can find populations of elephant, wild dogs, antelope and big cats that are equal to anything on the continent.Combining the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage landscapes of Tanzania's largest game reserve with the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean and the historic backdrop of the island of Zanzibar, this stunning 10-day itinerary offers a chance to experience the very best of the country's southern highlights.Selous is Africa's second biggest game park and home to some of the largest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania, whilst the wild lands of Ruaha National Park provides a haven for some of Africa's biggest populations of rare wild dogs.
