Nicaragua's Fire Mountains

Running parallel to the Nicaragua Pacific coast, a rocky spine of volcanoes provides the objectives for this superb new Central American trekking holiday. Day-hiking amongst the volcanoes of Nicaragua, many of which are active, we will reach as many as 7 summits during the course of this superb trekking holiday. Spanish colonial towns, charming villages, tropical forest and far-reaching views are all part of the experience, as are smoking fissures, boiling mud, lava pools and crater lakes perfect for swimming. We will hike on Isla Zapatera on the vast expanse of Lake Nicaragua and look for bats in the Masaya Volcano National Park. Also on our tick list are the perfect conical Momotombo, the black ash mountain of Cerro Negro, the challenging Telica and San Cristobal (1745m), the highest of all. This vibrant walking holiday is brought to a suitably relaxing conclusion with 2 nights at a Pacific coastal resort and a day's sightseeing in the old colonial town of Leon.Please note that we are selling this trip in conjunction with our partners at Hauser (Germany's leading independent adventure travel operator).
