Tours of Guyana

Trips in Africa, Central Asia, Middle East and South America on our own purpose built overlanding vehicles with a crew of two from 15 days to 15 weeks. Our vehicles carry up to 24 travellers and are camping based trips. Our trips are run on a full participation basis so have fun helping to cook for the group (on a rota system) and taking an active involvement in the day to day running of the trip.

Join us in Spitsbergen in search of Polar bears or in Madagascar to see reclusive lemurs; experience face-to-face encounters with endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda or track elusive jaguars in Guyana. Search for the Big Five – lion, leopard, rhinoceros, buffalo and elephant – in Africa’s world-famous game parks; or for the ultimate African wildlife experience join a walking safari, where the thrill of being on foot among the wildlife is second to none. Closer to home you could observe the rare European brown bear in Finland, the whales and dolphins of the Azores or the prolific birdlife of the Scottish islands. Travel with us to Guyana and Suriname as we search for some of the world's rarest wildlife species, including many varieties of birdlife. From tree-top canopies to jungle walkways, mountain summits and dense virgin rainforest, we track the elusive jaguar. We will also visit the capitals of Georgetown and Paramaribo and discover some of Suriname's colonial past.

Join us on a one-off expeditionary trip that will see us boarding indigenous dug-out canoes and setting off on a 7 day journey on Guyana's Burro Burro River, spotting wildlife and learning jungle skills as we delve into the Guianan Shield. Totally supported by the local Amerindian community, we sleep in basic hammock camps, erected by our local guides, who will also show us some of the skills that the indigenous Macushi people use to survive in this environment, like fishing and the medicinal uses of the many varieties of plants.
