Classic Chilean Adventure

Stretching for over 4,300 kilometres along South America's Pacific coastline, Chile is a land of startling contrasts and beautiful extremes. The world's longest country, its improbably thin dimensions harbour some of the most spectacular scenery on earth, from the stark and inhospitable beauty of the Atacama Desert, to the drama of Patagonia and the staggering Torres del Paine National Park. Beginning in Santiago, you'll enjoy some time soaking up the city's colonial heritage before flying down to Punta Arenas, where you will spend three days exploring the Torres del Paine National Park, for many, one of the finest national parks anywhere in the Americas. Next stop will be the panoramas and snow-capped peaks of the Lake District, where you will visit the Alercon Andino National Park and hike to the top of Villarrica Volcano. In sharp contrast, the final leg of this incredible journey takes you to San Pedro de Atacama, from where you will experience both the driest place on earth and the rich, fertile vineyards of the Colchagua Valley.

Undiscovered Chile

Largely unexplored and sparsely populated, the remote Aisen region lies amongst the wild landscapes of Southern Chile. Famous for its breathtaking scenery, which includes the world's third largest icefields after Antarctica and Greenland, it provides the perfect destination for an off beat Chilean adventure. A trip that can be tailored to suit your needs, you'll start in Santiago and, staying at a mix of lodges and camps, trek, kayak and cruise across some of the most spectacular and remote landscapes in South America. The first part of your journey takes you along the Carretera Austral to the shores of Lake General Carrera, close to where you will begin your four-day kayak down the river to the town of Caleta Tortel. After a brief stay in Coyhaique, the regional capital, you then take a catamaran journey through the southern fjords to the luxurious Puyuhuapi Lodge, your base from which to explore the spectacular scenery of Chilean Patagonia. Returning through the Austral fjords, you'll enjoy the full majesty of the Andes Mountains as you head back to Puerto Chacabuco and then on to Santiago.

Highlights of Chile

This incredible journey will take you from the windswept beauty of the south, with its glittering lakes and snow-capped mountains, to the harsh, surreal landscapes of the Atacama in the north, the world's driest desert. It begins in Santiago, Chile's historic capital, where you will have a chance to explore its colonial highlights before flying down to Punta Arenas, your gateway into the beautiful landscapes of the Torres del Paine National Park. In stark contrast, the second leg of the journey takes you north, to the small town of San Pedro de Atacama and the salt lakes and lava flows of the most arid spot on earth. Covering some 1,000 kilometres, the Atacama offers a chance for trekking in the Salt Mountains, visiting the Moon and Death Valleys and sunset at the Taito Geysers.

Historic Chile And Easter Island

This remarkable adventure takes you on a journey that spans huge distances and a fascinating mix of cultures and traditions, beginning in the Chilean capital of Santiago. After a chance to explore the city you'll head out into the Casablanca Valley, one of the country's most important wine producing areas. After sampling some of Chile's finest exports, you'll then fly some 3,500 kilometres to Easter Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that lies within the protection of the Rapa Nui National Park and is home to the famous Moai Statues. Returning to the mainland, you then spend some time enjoying the captivating port city of Valparaiso, another World Heritage site that is renowned for its Bohemian culture, painted houses and incredible seafood. Birthplace of Augusto Pinochet and Salvador Allende, this city was a favourite of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda.
