The Great Himalaya Trail
The Great Himalaya Trail is the world's longest and highest alpine walking track, spanning most of the length of the Himalayas for 4,500km between Tibet and Pakistan. For the ultimate trekking challenge, nothing beats the 1,700km Nepal portion of the trail, a 5 month traverse of the wildest and most remote environments in the country. World Expeditions were the first company to offer this route on a commercial basis and it's been running each spring since 2011. If the thought of a 156 day trek is a little too daunting, the route is split into seven stages (details below). For more details of this epic trip, see the World Expeditions website or check the experiences of previous trips on the Great Himalaya Trail site.
